FAQs

Is the ALPHA ebike UL certified?

Yes, the whole ALPHA ebike meets UL 2849 Safety Standards and its battery meets UL 2271. The UL certification ensures each battery performs safely and charges efficiently so riders have less to worry about.

How can I use the ALPHA throttle in a proper way? What is the Natural Pedaling Start Mode?

ALPHA has a throttle, but it is designed to prevent immediate throttle use from start. This safety precaution is meant to prevent undue damage from throttle use to the rear derailleur and motor, as well as prevent an accidental start. To further aid this safety precaution, we recommend starting ALPHA in lower gears.

Please utilize the "Natural Pedaling Start" before you activate the throttle. Start pedaling naturally and gently, and avoid using the throttle directly. Please reduce pedaling force and/or let go of the throttle before shifting gears. Do NOT shift gears while pedaling hard or while the throttle is engaged.

What’s the difference between a mid-drive + torque sensor and a hub motor + torque sensor?

A mid-drive motor + torque sensor works by placing the motor at the bike's center, directly powering the bike’s drivetrain. The torque sensor detects the force applied to the pedals, adjusting motor output in real-time, equating to a smooth and responsive ride that closely matches the rider's pedaling effort. These rides are typically smoother feeling, and are more closely associated to traditional bike rides.

In contrast, a hub motor + torque sensor works by placing the motor in the wheel hub, where the torque sensor detects pedal force but typically with a slight delay in power delivery. This setup relies on the motor's direct interaction with the wheel, and while it adjusts pedal assist, it may not feel as immediate or proportional as the mid-drive system, giving way to a more assertive, aggressive feeling ride.

What is the Galaxy Perform S eDrive System?

The Galaxy eDrive System is self-developed by Heybike, with the Galaxy Perform S eDrive as one of the premiere drive systems.

Each ALPHA utilizes the Galaxy Perform S eDrive System due to the exceptional value added for riders and its ability to allow for competitive market pricing. This system addition will not only provide riders with an efficient, strong mid-drive Ebike, it also makes the ALPHA an affordable option without a single compromise in performance. Each Galaxy Perform S eDrive efficiency allows for an additional 8% of range when compared to other batteries of the same capacity. This performance improvement equates to a noticeable balance of affordability, efficiency, and extended range for users seeking top-tier Ebike performance. The Mivice motor application into each Heybike ALPHA further adds to the overall efficiency. The 500W X700 mid-drive motor has a highly reputable name in the biking industry, particularly with energy conversion efficiency, and collaborates excellently with Heybike’s Galaxy Perform S system to offer 105N·m of torque, ensuring riders have a powerful, smooth, and long-lasting experience.

Does the ALPHA eBike come with fenders and a rear rack?

Yes, the ALPHA ebike comes equipped with two fenders and a rear rack as standard, providing added convenience and protection for your rides.
