Earth Day is more than just a date—it’s a movement to protect the planet we all call home. This year, Heybike is proud to honor the spirit of Earth Day with urban tree-planting initiatives. From April 22nd to May 20th, we invite you to join our “Green Rides for a Cleaner World” campaign and be an Honor Green Rider of our green biking community.

We’ve partnered with One Tree Planted to give back to our planet through urban forestry. Your ride can now help plant trees in US cities that need more green space, cleaner air, and stronger ecosystems.

What Is One Tree Planted?

Founded in 2014, One Tree Planted is a non-profit organization dedicated to global reforestation. It has planted over 135 million trees worldwide. Its Urban Forestry Action focuses on city-centered plantings that improve mental and physical health, reduce urban heat islands, enhance stormwater management, and support biodiversity. Every ride you take will help plant larger, more resilient trees tailored to the urban environment across the US. These trees play an important role in keeping our communities healthy in this rapidly urbanizing world.

How It Works—Ride and Plant

How do you participate? It is simple and rewarding!

• To Be A Green Explorer: You just need to participate in this event by riding your Heybike between April 22 and May 20. Take 2 photos of the display’s odometer to show how far you travel: one at the beginning, the other at the end.
• To Be An Honor Green Rider: Ride 100 miles or more on your Heybike between April 22 and May 20. Take 2 photos of the display’s odometer to show the accumulated distance. If you hit the goal, we will plant a tree on your behalf through the Urban Forestry Action program by One Tree Planted. And you will also be awarded a digital certificate recognizing your contribution to environmental protection.

Submit your photos and relevant information in the form below. The submission deadline is June 4th. All participants will be featured on Heybike official website and social media. Whether you use your Heybike for daily commutes, weekend adventures, or simply enjoying the fresh air, every ride counts towards a greener tomorrow!

Why It Matters—Small Rides, Big Impact

Riding your Heybike already reduces your carbon footprint. With this campaign, you can take your green action even further by helping plant real trees. Trees are not just beautiful—they are critical infrastructure for life in our cities.

• Combatting Climate Change
  One mature tree can absorb up to 48 pounds of CO₂ per year. Urban trees also help lower temperatures by providing shade and releasing moisture, which alleviates the heat island effect in big cities.
• Cleaner Air, Healthier Communities
  Trees filter harmful pollutants such as nitrogen dioxide, ozone, and particulate matter. Studies have shown that neighborhoods with more tree cover can experience up to a 60% reduction in air pollutants.
• Keeping Water, Preventing Desertification
  Tree roots help prevent soil erosion and improve water absorption. This reduces the risk of floods during heavy rain. Planting trees in cities helps reclaim lost green space, restore soil fertility, and create habitats for urban wildlife.
